Philanthropy has always been close to my heart. I believe that when we are in a position to help others, we have a responsibility to do so. In Australia, we are fortunate to live in a country with strong communities, but there are still many people facing hardship—whether it’s due to illness, financial struggles, or a lack of opportunities. That’s where philanthropy makes a real difference.
For me, philanthropy isn’t just about donating money—it’s about creating lasting change. Whether it’s funding critical medical research, supporting programs for vulnerable youth, or providing opportunities for Indigenous employment, the goal is always the same: to uplift and empower others. Through my work with the Epworth Medical Foundation, Lighthouse Foundation, and the Kids Cancer Project, I’ve seen firsthand how targeted support can transform lives.
One of the most rewarding aspects of philanthropy is seeing the ripple effect it creates. A single act of generosity can lead to improved healthcare, stronger communities, and better education for future generations. It’s not just about immediate relief—it’s about building a better future.
But philanthropy isn’t limited to large donations or corporate giving. Every person has the power to contribute, whether by volunteering time, mentoring someone in need, or supporting local initiatives. Small, consistent efforts can have just as much impact as large-scale giving.
I encourage everyone to find a cause they are passionate about and take action. Giving back isn’t just about helping others—it’s about strengthening the fabric of our society. When we invest in our communities, we create a future where opportunity, support, and kindness are available to all. And that, to me, is what truly defines success.
