Everyone deserves a seat at the table

October 6, 2025 George Stamas

I’ve always believed that true success isn’t just about individual achievements—it’s about creating opportunities for others to succeed alongside us. When we foster an inclusive environment, whether in business or the broader community, we unlock potential, drive innovation, and build stronger, more connected teams. Inclusiveness isn’t just about fairness; it’s about making sure that everyone, regardless of their background, has the chance to contribute and thrive.

At GJK Facility Services, inclusiveness is more than just a policy—it’s a value that guides the way we work. We believe that every individual, regardless of background, should have access to meaningful opportunities. That’s why we’ve championed employment initiatives for Indigenous Australians, people from diverse cultural backgrounds, and those who have faced barriers to employment. When people feel valued and included, they don’t just succeed—they contribute in ways that enrich the entire workplace.

Inclusiveness is about more than just employment; it’s about respect, understanding, and the belief that different perspectives make us better. I’ve always believed that a business or community that welcomes diversity is not only more innovative but also more resilient. The best ideas often come from unexpected places, and when we listen to voices from all walks of life, we gain insights that help us grow.

But inclusiveness doesn’t happen by chance—it requires action. It means making the effort to ensure everyone is heard, challenging biases, and creating environments where people feel safe to be themselves. Whether it’s mentoring someone from an underrepresented background, supporting inclusive hiring practices, or simply taking the time to listen and learn, we all have a role to play.

For me, inclusiveness is not just about doing what’s right—it’s about building a future where everyone has the chance to contribute, succeed, and belong. Because when we lift each other up, we all rise together.
